Quorum is a small a cappella choir based in Milton Keynes specialising in singing renaissance sacred music at church services. In recent years Quorum has expanded its repertoire to include unaccompanied choral music from  the 20th and 21st centuries.

The choir is well known for the high quality of its singing, its flexibility, and ability to provide suitable music for a range of church services. The choir provides music for Choral Evensongs, Sung Eucharists and Words and Music services at local churches. Each year Quorum sings weekend services at a Cathedral as a Visiting Choir.

The group is considered 'quorate' when there are enough people present to cover each part - hence the name Quorum

Quorum currently has 15 singers.  If you are interested in joining please contact the group's administrator at the email address given below outlining your experience.

Church Services

Quorum welcomes enquiries from local churches in the North Buckinghamshire/Milton Keynes area to sing at services. Recent and upcoming engagements can be found in Diary.

Weddings

Quorum is available to sing at Weddings in the Milton Keynes and North Bucks area.  The choir will lead the congregation in singing hymns during the service, and sing a selection of unaccompanied choral pieces during the signing of the register. For further information please contact the group's administrator (see Contact below).

Origins

The group gave its first performance on All Saint's Day in 1984 at All Saints Church, Lathbury, Bucks. The founder members were passionate about early music and wanted to sing this music in a small choir. The group originally sang secular and sacred early music, but gradually began to specialise in providing music for church services.  Since the late 1980s Quorum has had an association with St Mary Magdalene Church, Willen, Milton Keynes, and each year Quorum provides music for several services at the church including their annual Carol Service.
